After 8 years of waiting, the community of Long Point First Nation finally got a new school. As the former was convicted of mould in 2008, the students were confined to makeshift classes in the gymnasium, making it impossible to practice sports and extracurricular activities in the community.

The world-renowned architect, Douglas Cardinal, designed the school's plans, inspired by the shape of the honeycomb cells. The wooden structure is the first in the region to use the CLT, wooden structural panels with a thickness of 4, which replace the traditional column and counter-sale system.
