Complete renovation of the exterior cladding at Le Carrefour High School in Val-d'Or: removal of existing brick and cladding, asbestos removal, and installation of a new insulated envelope consisting of masonry and aluminum panels, carried out in three phases to keep the school operational.

The renovation of the exterior cladding at Le Carrefour High School in Val-d’Or involves the building envelope of blocks A and B of this vast 13,694 m² school complex, where the existing clay brick, sheet metal, and tile are being dismantled and replaced with new insulated masonry and prefinished aluminum panels, including the reconstruction of the entrance canopies.
Carried out in three phases between May 2023 and September 2024 to allow the school to remain open, the work required rigorous asbestos removal prior to each demolition. Hardy Construction provided 75% of the site’s workforce for the Centre de services scolaire de l’Or-et-des-Bois.
