Complete expansion and redevelopment of the municipal arena in Chibougamau: a $9.9M project spanning 5,110 m² that includes the demolition and reconstruction of the rink slab, the addition of storage space, and a full modernization of the refrigeration system.

Chibougamau's municipal arena is undergoing a major transformation aimed at bringing it up to standard for the coming decades.

Hardy Construction is carrying out the work, which includes the demolition of the existing concrete slab, the construction of an extension for storage purposes, the redevelopment of the stands and interior spaces, as well as the complete replacement of the refrigeration system.

The modernization of the refrigeration system is at the heart of the project: the goal is to eliminate the use of hydrocarbons in favour of a high-performance electric system designed for the next 50 years of operation.

This municipal recreational infrastructure project, funded by the Government of Québec, reflects Hardy Construction's ability to deliver complex heavy-renovation contracts in a northern environment.
