Following the decision of Canadian Tire Corporation to invest in the construction of a new business in the city of Amos, Hardy Construction obtained the contract of the first phase of preparing the land with major civil works.

In order to address the problem of poor quality soil, an impressive volume of granular material overload had to be put in place temporarily, in order to force the soil to discharge water using vertical drains, a rare construction technique in Canada.

Once the water was properly evacuated, the equipment had to be removed again in order to complete the final development.
