Civil engineering and infrastructure work for the Kebaowek First Nation Cultural Center on the shores of Lake Kipawa: rock excavation, water, sewer, and stormwater systems, and a geothermal trench, in preparation for the new community building.

On the shores of Lake Kipawa, within the Anishinabe community of Kebaowek, Hardy Construction’s civil division carried out the infrastructure work to prepare the site for the new First Nation Cultural Center. The contract, valued at approximately $1.5 million, included clearing, demolition, and extensive earth and rock excavation requiring drilling and blasting.
The team installed water, sewer, stormwater, and electrical systems; a geothermal trench; paving; concrete curbs and sidewalks; a permanent fence with a guardhouse; and landscaping—a project that exemplifies the company’s commitment to sustainable partnerships with Indigenous communities.
