Construction and renovation of the CTRI (Industrial Waste Technology Center) on the Rouyn-Noranda campus of the Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue: a two-story institutional building with an exposed glued-laminated timber structure, built on piles and heated by geothermal energy.

The CTRI, an applied research center at the Cégep de l'Abitibi-Témiscamingue specializing in the recovery of industrial and mining residues, has added a new wing to its Rouyn-Noranda campus. The project combined the construction of a new addition with the complete renovation of the existing building, ensuring architectural continuity with the adjacent training plant. The structure, built of heavy timber with exposed glued-laminated trusses and beams, rests on deep pile foundations. The building houses specialized laboratories (chemistry, biomass, microbiology), a pilot plant, cold storage rooms, and administrative offices, all served by a geothermal heating system and a ventilation system tailored to the needs of industrial research.
